Momoko was getting ready to go the beach by making sandwiches and grabbing some lemonade. "Perfect!" she said after she finished making her basket. "Oh, I forgot something!" She headed for her closet and grabbed a white sunhat. Then, she started to walk down the sandy beach."Ah! What a nice day out!" Momoko exclaimed happily. "A perfect day for a picnic!" After Momoko set up her blanket with her basket, she sat down admiring the sea. "I wonder why the sea is blue..." she thought.

Ashton was taking a nice long walk on the beach. He always found it relaxing to walk around, doing nothing else. Then he saw something. Or... Someone? He slowly walked closer, not wanting to intrude yet wanting to know what was up ahead. It was a girl... He quickly looked away trying to make sure she didn't notice him. -Well I got so close, I bet she already saw me...- So, he decided to just keep walking as if he didn't notice her. He didn't want to be mean but he didn't want to be nosey.

While Momoko was daydreaming, she heard footsteps in the sand. She quickly looked up and saw a boy. "Oh!" she said surprised. "Calm down!" she thought. "It's just a boy!" she also thought. "Hello..." she said shyly. "What's your name?"

Shivers ran up his spine. -Darn! She on to me!!!- He slowly turned around. She was actually pretty cute. "Uh... Hi... I'm Ashton. And you?" He tried to sound like he wasn't nervous. He failed. What was he thinking? -Be more polite. Act mature. Wash your hands... Where did that come from? Okay, calm down. She seems nice. If you keep acting like this, your going to make a bad impression...- Then he smiled, looking very... Friendly. This time, he didn't fail.

"Oh, I'm Momoko, but please call me Momo." she said with a nervous voice. "Why do I sound like an adult?!" Momoko thought furiously. "Calm thoughts... calm thoughts..." she also thought. "So... What are you doing on the beach?" "Now, I sound like an intterogator!" she thought more anger. "Right now, I'm having a picnic."

"Oh I'm just taking a walk. I always find it refreshing!" He smiled. "So... Momo... What made you decide to come to the beach today?" -Wow... I sound like a freak!!!- Ashton took a deep breath. He didn't want to sound like he did. He wanted to make a new friend. He just hoped he could, seeing as he was so shy.

"Just having a picnic." she said calmly. "You must be tired after that walk." "Here." Momoko handed Ashton a lemonade. "This will cool you off!" "Now, I sound like a mother!" Momoko thought irritably.

Ashton stared at the drink. He didn't want to sound greedy but he didn't want to be rude and not accept it. "Uh... Thanks" He took the glass and sat down beside. her. -I'm going to explode in three... Two.. One...- Ashton had never felt to nervous before so he tried to bring up a topic. "So... Have you ever wondered why the ocean is always so blue?"

"Yeah! That was what I was thinking of now!" Momoko said excitedly. "OMG! Now i sound way to hyper!" she thought. "I think the sea is blue because of the sea salt or the Harvest Goddess..." "What about you?"

Ashton looked out at the water. He knew why. "Well its because of the sky. Its just like a rainbow!" He smiled. -Great, now I sound like a complete nerd!- He had always been embarrassed about how smart he was. He shifted a little, trying not to show off.

"Oh..." Momoko said with dissapointment. "Why did I believe in fairytales?" she thought with so much angrily. Instead, she complemented him. "Wow! Where did you learn that!" she said intrested. "I left school at an early age because my mom and dad died..."

Ashton saw disappointment in her eyes. "Don't be upset. Everyone should believe in..." He searched his mind for the word. As smart as he was, he was pretty dumb. "Fairy tales... Its normal. I just don't believe in them. That doesn't mean you shouldn't though." He tried to be what she wanted but nothing seemed to work. Everything turned awkward...

"No, no it's fine!" Momoko said quickly. "I'm fine..." "Awkward..." she thought with dissapointment. Trying to change the subject she said this,"So... Have you lived in Forget-Me-Not Valley for a long time?" "I just came here."

"Hmm..." Ashton thought about it. "I've been here since I was born! So welcom to Forget Me Not Valley Momo!" He put a big grin on his face finally he was starting to open up. He hadn't done that in such a long time.

"Really!" Momoko said with excitement. "You must know everything about Forget-Me-Not Valley!" Momoko was really happy that the conversation turned less depressing. "Um... I was wondering if you want to give me a tour around here..." Momoko said shyly. "I was wondering where the Goddess Pond is..."

"Sure! I'll show you everything in the valley if you want!" Oh look at the time! It was so late. How long had they been talking? "Sorry Momo. Its really late and my sister may be worrying about me. I've gotta run. I'll see you around!" With that he raced off, waving to Momo as he ran home.

"Bye!" Momoko said with a smile. "Maybe next time you can show me!" After Ashton went, Momoko left.
