| You have to
1) Gain experience with your hammer (for the boulders) or your axe (for the stumps)
2) Level it up using Copper, Silver, or Gold ore with Saibara's Blacksmith. |

| To use the leveled up version of your hammer, you have to hold down the button for a few seconds to charge it up, and then it'll swing and break the boulder. |

Usually, I hold down the button until her face is red with the black thing on her head ^^ the angry sign lol. (: but i have the mystrile hammer ^^ I'm sure you can kill the smooth big ones with the gold hammer. For the more bumpyer bigger ones (not the one at the waterfall) You need mystrile, or gold.
If you are wondering about the big rock at the waterfall, you need to upgrade ALL your tools to mystrile, and get the sword from the end of the 2nd cave xD Or was it 3rd lol? |

To open the first one you have to visit the site either very early in the morning or after 9pm. You also need to have your Hammer equipped before you enter the Excavation site. |

| To destroy the rock near the waterfall you don't need to uprgrade anything.
You have to go to the second mine and go way down to the bottom (255 floors)
