This was a while ago-but it's VERY stupid...you've been warned..
Me, Gamer and some of our friends were in Drama [which I have quit...]. We had to do a performance of Bugsy Malone. Our teacher was giving points to improve to each person. To one of my friends she said..."Improve your American accent."
What was wrong with that? My friend IS American!!!! Which we all yelled at our teacher. She ignored us. We teased my friend for the rest of the day. "Yeah, Joanna, improve your accent!" XD

whoa, that's werid. i know that unless i really kknew the teacher, i'd be kinda insulted by that. i love speaking in a bristish accent lD i can actually do accents pretty well. like, the other day i was playing twilight princess (becuase i have no life) and i was just randomly talkig in a bristish accent while playing with my cat who was in a box on my lap. (becuase i have no life) and i was just basiccly pretending it was link who was speaking in british en stuff. basicaly acting him out as i played. (becuase i have no life) and then suddenly, i go into a scottish accent and in a scottish accent i'm just like 'wow. didn't know i could do scottoish' and then after a few seconds of that, it melted back into british. i also have this thing i do where whenever i want skittlez i go 'can i have some skittlez' but i say it in a really funny werid way XD and then i keep saying "some skittlez. some skittelz' (becuase why? that's right, i have no life) i ordered skittlez at a movie theater like that once and the girl who was getting food for my friend was cracking up. good times, good times. (CREEPER FROG!)

hahaahahah thats funny i would of yelled at her too i mean like i would of been saying if i were that person "I AM AMERICAN!!!"and then start laghing lol

Your teacher needs to see the america. She needs to go on a trip soon, badly. There is no "American Accent" at all. Where ever you go in america people have different styles of talking. She should be more specific on what area she wants. For the looks of it, she lacks real world experiance.

And were being taught British English at school which is definentlly mixed with american english e_e

HHHHAAA!! I remember that day arty! Boy it cracked me up! I mean she has a pure American accsent but how should that teacher know american? She wasn't American herself. huu... Teachers.

There's all kinds of regional accents within America. People from the South, from Minnesota, from New Jersey, from Boston, from pretty much anywhere in the country, all talk differently. There's not one universal "American" accent. ;] So tell your drama teacher to stick THAT in her juice box.

Even within a state their are different accents. Where I live we've got Wisconsin-Country, Wisconsin-City, and my favorite Upper (u PUR). Not to mention the people from all over that move here.

If you want me to get technical, then she's not properly American-she's polish, but she moved to America when she was little, so yeah, she has an 'accent'.
@ polarbear-yeah, we know each other in real life...um for..*counts* ages...but we've only been friends for...three years, when we start year 9 in September. [That's right, isn't it Gamer? I'm not sure!] And who do you think helped make Gamer's rp charater? XD
@ Gamer-I know..teachers at our school...and don't get me started on the physics teacher...XD If you guys ask, there are many tales me and Gamer can tell about our teachers...XD
