i have to get 3 shots on september 16th D8. Blood test, vaccine, and cholestrol. I'm scared of needles D8 They hurt. my doctor has to take the shots my shoulder or my thighs. I'm scared D8 *hugs nearest stuffed animal*

I did too once. Don't worry though. It won't be that bad. Just bring a stress ball and when you're getting the shot, squeeze it like its your enemy's head! XX

Shoulders are more painful for me. Then again, shots in general are painful. I've had blood drawn pretty much all of my life, though, so needles are kinda routine for me.

Take a deep breath, and don't watch the nurse put the needle in your arm. Stare at the opposite wall and distract yourself till it's over.

I don't care about shots that much. I just sit there and the nurses are amazed when I don't flinch. They often say, "How can you do it?" I'll then go, "It's not that bad. Could be way worse as I see it."

My doctor wants me to wait till I'm older for blood test for some odd reason. I wonder why?
Normally they wait till your sixteen, because your blood is made on a pretty steady flow by then. Plus blood is important for when your growing and they don't want to disrubt the human growth. Losing a pint of blood at a young age most likely disturbs the homogenous status of that person. I don't really know though.

i get scared too.i had to get shots yesterday O.O....cuz i got a throat infection...and i had to get 2 shots!i was planning an escape plan when the doctor and the nurses werent in the room.hehe.and it wasnt on my arm,umm...my pockets i guess u can say,my poor butt!,and the second one hurt the most.
try to relax, i bite my lip so it wouldnt hurt which works for me

i did a shot..it was a blood test to see if i get infected by dengue..but..gladly..it was just apanas..

Maybe that's why I'm so disturbed. xD I used to get blood drawn about every other month when I was little.

I had to have cervical cancer shots. They didn't hurt, they just felt like I was being pinched. I can't remember the last time I had a proper shot...O_o
I hope it goes okay! I guess it's just a matter of distracting yourself-like listing the periodic table of elements or something. Don't ask.

Arty does have a point. The more relaxed you are the less painful things seem. It also prevents injuries if you are relaxed during a car crash too.
