She turned her eyes. How long had it been since she had really looked at these lands before her? She sighed weakly before beginning another stride with her long legs. She called herself a ‘runner,’ but it could have been taken in other ways than one. For one, she had run once before. She ran from her home and her friends on the island. Why? She had been afraid. Afraid of what, one may ask? That was the thing, she didn’t know. But she kept on running. But somehow, her feet brought her back here. To Sunshine Island. She didn’t look back. She was going to have to let go and run right through her fears and fight them off with such a push and shove. “Mia!” Someone called out, “Good to see you back again!” They called out to her. Mia only glanced back at them, waving back with a plastered on grin. She needed time to think. She had once been this wonderfully carefree woman with such youthfulness. But, it was beyond herself as to what could have possible driven her away from this island—her home. She felt a cool, gentle breeze on her cheek. She glanced over to see the beach. Slowing down, she came to a slow walk as she moved towards the beach and smiling weakly as the winds lightly tossed her straying hairs around. She smiled weakly with a tiny giggle. Truth be told, she missed that place and never had wanted to leave. Mia sighed once more, taking a single step into the lightly snow-covered sand. She was home, and she wasn’t leaving. She bent down slightly, enough to be able to reach the ground, she stretched out her fingers and began to write something out. “Mia Ethans.” She spelled, mouthing it silently as well, out in such a beautiful cursive lettering. She lifted herself up and glanced over her shoulder towards the town. Somehow, it felt the same… But it felt different all the same. She sighed once more, brushing hair from her face and turned her attention back out to the ocean view. A tiny smile graced her lips as the sound of her name was called out in excitement. She may have left once, but she was home now and that was all that really mattered. “It’s good to be home.” With that said, it began to snow and a tiny little snowflake landed on her nose as if welcoming her back.
