The sun was shining and the wind had a tenderness feel to it as it gently touched his cheek whilst he lay in the tall grass around himself. He was musing to himself, like he usually did when he was alone on a day like this. It was quiet, he enjoyed it in a way. He opened his eyes and brushed the hair away from his view of sight, "Sunshine Island." He murmured, "Really lives up to it's name." He mumbled.

Chase was walking around the island, alone for a change. It was a nice break from the insanity and chaos that shrouded him lately, and he took in a deep breath. As excited as he was, he was also overwhelmed, and needed a little time to himself.

He remembered how much he liked this island, how peaceful and quiet it was. And before long, he was back at his favorite place, the meadow. But today, he wasn't alone, and this time, it wasn't Mia who was in his presence.

He remembered seeing the male who was lying in the grass somewhere around before. In any case, he looked familiar. Chase approached and, hovering a little awkwardly overhead, said, "Hi." Simple as that.

His eyes closed before the distant male approached himself, Ari could have sworn to have heard something but merely put it in his mind that is was an animal of some kind and was best left alone. That was the idea, at least, until the so-called animal wandered near himself and spoke in human words a simple greeting. His brows furrowed together at the vague familiarity of the voice so he opened his eyes and peered up towards the source. "Hello." He answered back, having not really expected anyone else to be in the meadow that day.

He slowly forced himself to sit up as he ruffled his orangey hair in an attempt to fix it.

Chase looked down at the ground. "This seat taken?" he asked, sitting down on the carpet of grass without waiting for an answer. It was a silly question, anyways, and he didn't expect a reply. "I don't think we've formally met before," he said, trying to be as friendly as the people who had welcomed him had been. "I'm Chase." He stuck his hand out, accompanying it with what he hoped was a hospitable grin.

Ari glanced up at the male and shook his head, "No, go right ahead." He told him as he began to sit down. He began to speak once more, "No, I don't believe we have." Ari responded, listening to his name. "Nice to meet you. My name is Ari." He answered, a weak smile on his face, sticking out his hand, as well, and took Chase's in his own, with a firm grasp.

Chase nodded. "Uh, welcome, I guess," he said, waving his hand at the town, which was merely a bridge away. "Even though I don't really live in this town." He pointed west, somewhere across the ocean. "I'm from Mineral Town." He plucked a blade of grass and played it between his fingers as he added, "But it seems I'm here more than my home nowadays."

Ari just let out a laugh, "I'm not from here either." He told Chase, "But thanks for the welcome." He spoke, "How strange. I'm from Forgot-Me-Not Valley, but it seems I'm more in Mineral Town than I am in the valley." He admitted, "But this place seems nice."

Chase laughed. "It's the opposite for me," he said. "I like Mineral Town a lot. But my..." he paused, still trying to acquaint himself with the word, "...fiancee lives here. So I've been here a lot." His explanation fell a little short, and he bit his lip. "It is very nice here, though," he added. "There's no doubt about that." He didn't get lost in this town nearly as much as he did in Mineral Town, which was a bit odd, considering this island was much bigger than his own.

Ari laughed, "Mineral Town is nice." He began but was caught a bit off guard when he spoke of a fiancee, he smiled, "Ah, so the rumor I heard was true. Congratulations." He spoke with a grin, "It must be nice having a girl in your hand." He quietly mused aloud. He let out a soft chuckle, "Yeah, and it must also be nice since your girl lives here, no?"

Chase colored. "Rumors are floating around? Oh, geez." He laughed. "Well, it's a small town - I should've expected it." He nodded. "Her name is Mia. I'm assuming the two of you haven't met." He smiled. "Well, I don't really consider it having her in my hand...it's more like...well. I can't really explain it." He frowned, and shrugged. "Ah, well." He looked over at Ari with a coy expression and asked, "Any women of interest in your life? There are quite a few nice young ladies in the towns."

Ari snickered as Chase's face became a tinted red, "Rumors." He finalized, "But yeah, the shop owners and what not are all taking about it, it seems that everyone is happy for the two of you." He told him with a weak smile. He chuckled, "I mean in a way almost like having someone to rely on, but I understand." He told him with a light shrug. The red head listened to the other male and furrowed his brows together, "In my life?" He restated the question, "Not that I've really thought of it. I've only met a few, but none of which I see as more than a friend." He explained, "Not yet at least." He glanced away.

Chase smiled. "Ah," he said, nodding his head. "That would explain it. Especially the more talkative shop owners. They're the ones around the hub of the gossip- you know, whispered conversations in Aisle 3." He shook his head. "I own a store, myself. I know how it is." He paused, and added, "Mia is certainly reliable. She's a very sweet girl, and honest, too." He bowed his head, not wanting to get carried away with discussion of the girl he was to marry. "Met anyone who's captured your interest? Who are you closest with on the island, if anyone?"

Ari laughed, "Well I wish you all the best, really, and that they'll find something new to talk about soon so you and your soon-to-be wife can live in peace." He spoke, then nodded. "I've heard her name before, I may have met her once and only once but I don't really remember. But she sounds very nice. Congratulations, again." He chuckled. "Anone of real interest." He restated with a light nod, to show he was thinking. "Not on the island, I don't really know anyone from this island, but in Mineral Town. I suppose she is a close friend of mine." He shrugged, "Her name is Dylan." He revealed, "If I remember correctly, she was the first person I met in the area."

Chase laughed, tilting his head back at the sky. "I certainly hope so," he said. "Not just for peace of mind, but also for our privacy. It seems that everyone knows about it, even in towns that we don't visit often." He hesitated, and said, "Really, now? From the way she talks, she sounds like she knows everyone and everyone on the island." He grinned. "Well, the invitations to the wedding are very much open - we're essentially inviting the islands to join us. That includes you, I guess, so...you can meet the bride on her wedding day."

He thought for a second, and said, "Dylan?" He nodded. "She works for me, in my store. Very sweet girl."

"Then I hope you do get some." Ari spoke, "I would have lost my mind by now if I didn't receive any privacy after proposing to my lover." He lightly touched his forehead with his fingertips. He let out a soft laugh, "Quite the social butterfly she is then." He smiled weakly, "I can't wait to officially meet her then." He continued, "But I would be delighted to go to your wedding, thank you." He continued with a weak nod.

The red head glanced over to the other male with a curious expression, he nodded, "Yes, Dylan." He waited for a moment before he continued to explain, "Ah, I see. She is a very sweet girl." He nodded with a soft smile curling one corner of his lips.

"It seems we haven't gotten any at all..." Chase mused, biting his lip. "Privacy, that is. And while congratulations are always a good thing..." He trailed off, shaking his head. "Never mind. There will be plenty of time for us to be alone together." He paused for a moment, thinking. "19 is fairly young to be getting married. Would you agree?"

He noticed a small glint in Ari's eye and smiled. "Ah. I see. Well," he leaned back a little further, "Good luck with that." He laughed.

Ari chuckled, sensing that little innuendo but paid no mind to it, "And I'm sorry for that. There comes a time when you just have to push everyone off of yourself and say you need space." He told Chase, "But I'm sure you and your wife will have plenty of alone time." He smirked, snickering ever so softly. Then his question was brought up, which made Ari relax his expression as he thought again, "It is fairly young. But some people do say to do the best things in your youth. But who am I to say? I'm twenty-three and I haven't gotten married yet." He admitted.

Ari glanced over to Chase once with a cocked eye brow, "Luck for what?" He murmured in a bit of a whisper.

Chase hadn't realized that what he had said could be misinterpreted, and laughed it off. "Not like that," he said. "Well, not exactly, anyways." He shrugged his shoulders. "And pushing people away has never really worked for me. Either they cling tighter, or I end up feeling guilty about it and going back to them, trying to make up for being distant. I'm a bit of a masochist, I guess." He sighed, and added, "I know I'm not making the wrong decision in marrying her. But there's always that little voice in the back of your head, you know? 'What if.'" He sighed once more.


He laughed at the question of Dylan, and explained, "From what I can tell, she's a bit of a spitfire."
