I got braces on monday. and theres a few things i would like to comment on about it.


1.) I can't drink Sprite so i have to tell my friends when we go out to eat this, "Make sure I don't order sprite" D8<
2.) i can barely eat
3.) It's hard chewing
4.) It literally changes my diet
5.) I have to take a friggen advil every day
6.) hurts
7.) Can't play flute T^T well i have to work to get my sound back
8.) orphadontist still thinking about getting bottom braces
9.) did i mention that it hurts?
10.) I look pretty cool in them xD
11.) im hungry all da time o_O

I think thats it. o_O and my friend calls me a brace face so I guess that works.

You can't have Sprite? That's weird.
You'll soon get over the pain and you'll be able to eat lots of food soon. I strongly recommend demanding a spagetti (or some other soft food that won't get stuck in your braces) on the days you get your braces tightened. Eventually you might cheat like me and eat foods that you aren't supposed to.

It's great once you get them off!

But that's strange, why can't you have Sprite?

I wasn't allowed to have soda, either. I followed all of those rules for...maybe six months. Tops. I still drink soda, chew gum, eat popcorn, pretzels and apples, etc. I CANNOT give up gum. Ask any of my friends. I have a problem. >.< But my orthodontist has never even caught onto this. Never. And I'm getting my braces off in two weeks, so

Orthos don't want you to drink soda when you have braces because the sugars and acids supposedly weaken the bonds between your teeth and the metal. Well, MINE ARE STILL THERE. So.

Mine never told me not to drink soda and said sugar free gum was okay too.

My ortho's last name is DARLING. I'm not kidding; he's freaking perfect. Perfect teeth, perfect looks, perfect personality. He's like a living breathing Ken doll. His wife works in the office, and there's pictures of their perfect kids plastered all over the place. It's a little unnerving to go in there. xD

a lot of my friends and peers had to visit the orthodontist on Friday. I don't have one of those because I've never had braces. I almost got them once, though. The dentist guy or whatever said if i got them and then had them taken off, my teeth might go back to the way they were. I don't know, the memory is hazy so i can't remember. I don't even remember why i almost had to get braces. My teeth aren't crooked.

Sounds like my brother. >.< According to our [former] dentist, he has a perfect bite. She raved about them. I've never honestly seen someone rave about TEETH. xD I don't have crooked teeth, either, but my jaw was a little misaligned. And I had one tooth that was like twisted in place because it came out waaaay too early.

I had ugly crooked teeth and the plates on the roof of my mouth weren't sealed together yet. (They still aren't but it's not as bad as before.)

Aww, I'm a little late for commenting on this. I got my braces off in July--so before I met you guys. But I only had them on for 11 months

I cheated... Like a week after I got them on xD One tip, if you do cheat, DO NOT EVER eat Rolos (those caramel chocolate candy thingies) It broke my back bracket right off.

Your teeth will look beautiful when you get them off though, so that'll be amazing! Good luck!!!

Breaking a bracket off with a Rollo is kid play. I accidentally bit into a Now-And-Later in sixth grade and it pulled out one of my teeth. xD
