It was an unfortunately rare occasion that Arden felt peaceful. But this was one such day, when her only worry was where to plop down on the massive surface area of the field. She decided that it didn't matter and fell on her back, spread-eagled, with her arms and legs splayed on the ground as if she was making a snow angel.

It was a beautiful day, astonishingly appropriate and in complete harmony with her state of mind. Wondering if she was under the influence of some insanely effecient mood-altering drug, Arden chuckled. "Naturally high, I guess," she muttered to herself, closing her eyes and letting the sun beat down on her.

Frederik travelled all the way to the Waffle Island for whatever reason he may never know. Well of course it wasn't bad on his part, but maybe Waffle Island could be a better place to dwell on. The guy sighed at the sight of fields. The green meadow seemed to be never-ending... And somehow sorrowful. Frederik's eyes caught a glimpse of a person laying on the ground besides a giant tree.

Without thinking twice, he rushed off the road and stopped right next to the girl laying on the grassy field. Frederik gazed sleepily for a moment and leaned on the tree without making any noise.

"Hmm... I pretty much understand why you chose this place to relax at, instead of any other."

Frederik was one weird fellow. What appeared to be interesting to him was inspected right away, what he found entertaining was tried out here and now. He would talk to anyone and everyone and his way of contacting with people depended on his mood at the moment. And no, he didn't deny the fact that he was weird. Nobody can give you wiser advice than yourself; you will never err if you listen to your own suggestions. That is exactly why, other's opinions do not bother him.

Arden sat up, surprised. "Huh?" Instantly, she regretted opening her mouth at all. She shook her head, trying to gather her bearings. Which, of course, was hard to do after an absolute stranger pops up out of absolute nowhere and says something that you don't quite catch. And, of course, that happened all too often around these parts.

"I'm sorry?" she said. She eyeballed the stranger - tall, blond. He was leaning against the nearest tree, looking as if he hadn't a care in the world, and for the briefest of instants, she was jealous. And then she remembered her new mantra. I am calm, cool, and collected. I am carefree.

She tried to muster effortless ease, but it was harder than the stranger made it seem. "You must be new," she said, purposefully casual. "I'm Arden." She held her hand out for him to shake.

Frederik snickered, as the girl sat up and glanced at him in a confused manner. He, of course, could not blame her. Frederik is weird and, but as long as it doesn't bother him, he'll be fine..

"Don't mind me too much," He shrugged, gazing at the girl, "I'm just a person passing-by"

He lied and did not lie. Frederik, of course, wasn't too sure whether it was the right decision to randomly pop up and unconsciously convince this person to create a conversation. That was his aim anyway: inspecting, talking, making conclusions. Anyone could possibly label that as creepy and weird, not Frederik though. He was the sort of person who liked differences and the unknown. His blue, although gentle, appeared to be piercing through everyone he watches. Frederik silently listened as the girl named Arden introduced herself.

"The name's Frederik," he answered sleepily, "You're correct I am new, recently I moved to Forget-Me-Not-Valley, right now I just wander around."

He shrugged as if talking to a stranger is the most normal thing on this earth.

The boy - Frederik - snickered at her as she sat up. Arden bit her lip for a second. Just a second. His eyes, strangely blue and somehow emotive without being so, searched her over as she sat up. She felt strangely off her guard and tried to gain her composure. She pushed her palms against the ground, lifting herself and standing up, and then crossed her arms across her chest.

"Forget-Me-Not, huh?" She nodded knowingly. "I've been there before. But I live here." She grinned. "What brings you to Waffle Island, all the way over here? Forget-Me-Not is that-a-way." She pointed in the opposite direction. "The towns are all kind of interconnected. It doesn't take long to walk or boat from one to the other. Forget-Me-Not is most accessible to Mineral Town, though. A lot of people travel back and forth from those towns to work, or visit." She was rambling, and she knew it. She closed her mouth abruptly.

"Ah, sorry," she apologized. But she didn't specify what, exactly, she was sorry for. She smiled, a bit wry. "Well...have fun with your wandering." She turned to leave.

Arden stood up with intents of leaving, obviously. Frederik, like the curious person he is, refused to let her go so soon. Quickly pushing himself up from the tree, he got closer to the girl, now the two of them walking side-by-side. Whether she liked it or not, now Frederik will be glued to her for at least an hour.

Why? For what reason? How come? Frederik often didn't know himself, but did that anyway. In all honesty, he often acted according to his feelings and refused to listen to anyone else than himself. However, Frederik often found various situations boring and, lost interest right away... But if it's the other way around... If that something is interesting he'll stay, until the situation is completely figured out.

"Hmm... Mind showing me around?" His eyes narrowed, adjusting to the light after he left shadow under the tree. Frederik silently lined up each action she could possibly make... It was his hobby; trying to guess the consequences that is.

'Weirdo' was often directed towards him, heck... Getting unpleased stares was a daily happening to Fred. Although, that still hurt him, no matter how much he denied.

Arden looked at the boy out of the corner of her eye. It was hard to size him up, even harder to figure him out completely. But that could be said of anyone one meets and has only known for several minutes. She honestly had no idea what to expect from him, if his intentions were to mock her or to genuinely find out what made her tick. Either way, she wasn't one to toss an opportunity aside carelessly.

Never her.

"I don't mind," she said, and she shrugged. "Feel free to tag along. I've got plenty of time." If there was one thing in abundance around these parts, it was time. "But trust me, once you've seen all there is to see, it gets boring pretty quickly." She smiled, quick as a flash, and just as suddenly, it was gone. If you weren't paying close enough attention, you would've missed it.

"Let's go."
