The sun was shining, the water was calm and a beautiful shade of blue. Genna like this cool breezy summer day. It was the afternoon and Genna wanted to try fishing. She tried probably over two years ago. This time she wanted to her memory of fishing again. Also, maybe she can make cat food for her cat mittens and the other cats at her pet shop. Or maybe sell them. It was a tough choice. She threw the fishing rod and waited for a bite.

This was going to be a long day.

Wess slowly swam through the lake, with his goggles on, he had a little air-tube sticking out of the water to let him breathe. Peeping his head out; he saw Genna. Instead of taking the childish, 'Kappa Reed' look, and tugging on her line; he saw up; and then plopped out beside her; soaking wet, but nonetheless, he pulled off his goggles, and air-tube. "Hey, Genna," he says, solemnly, looking at the fishing rod she was holding, and then at her, and he smiled.

Genna felt her line being tugged. Ah ha! but soon the fish got away and Wess came along. "Oh hi there~ What brings you here?" Genna asked. She didn't who tugged her line, maybe some rare fish that Wess scared away. She'll probably never know. Better luck next time. She threw her fishing line again and continued to wait for another fish.

"Catching fish are hard" Genna complained.

Wess laughs. "No it's not; watch!" he says; jumping back into the water. A few moments passed; as Wess came back up for air; and dived back down.

Reeds and fish were everywhere; there were small fish; big fish; medium fish; and each looked good. Finding a nice looking brown fish; he resurfaces for air; and dives back down; holding his breath; his goggles deflecting the water away from his eyes.

Wess engaged his battle; his hands slipped around it; but it squiggled away; and then he tried a different approach, to no avail. Smirking on the inside; he chased the fish up towards the surface; forcing it to jump out of the water. Drawing back his hand; he slapped it as it skidded to a half near a tree. Picking up the fish; Wess dropped it in Genna's bucket. "Well that was fun,"

Genna watched Wess jump in the water to catch a fish. "That's easy for him" Genna muttered. She waited for a couple of moments until the fish flew out of the water and then he dropped the fish in her bucket.

"I meant with a fishing pole~" Genna giggled.

Atleast she got one fish so far.

"Using a fishing pole takes too long," he laughs; sitting down beside Genna. He throws himself on his back and looks up at the clouds. "Why don't you try my way of fishing?" Wess asks; picking up his shirt laying nearby, and pulls it on; water attaching to it from his body. "There's like a whole different world down there!" Wess looks thoughtful for a moment. "I wonder what would happen if we tried swimming in the Goddess Pond, in Mineral Town..."

Genna smiled by the idea, maybe she could try catching fish underwater. "Swimming in the goddess pond? we may like obain gills" Genna joked. Suddenly she got a tugg on her fishing pole. She reeled in and it was a small fish but pretty good quality.

"I got one~" Genna said excitedly.

"Let me see!" Wess said; smiling; reaching his hand out for the fishing pole. "I'll try the boring way," he jokes, laughing friendly.
He sticks his head in the water again; and sees fish swimming around. "There's a few big ones out in the middle part," he says, jumping for a chance to fish. Providing food for one's family... Echoed in Wess' mind, and he was a bit disturbed by the fact he had suddenly jumped from scales on the "likeometer."

Genna laughed when he put his head in the water. "Really? no wonder i can't get the large fish" Genna said amused. She has to try swimming to catch fish idea. It seemed really fun. When Wess was trying to catch a fish, he seemed distracted by something. Maybe by an amusing fish? That could possibly be it.

"Good luck" Genna said smiling.

Wess takes the rod from Genna; and swooping it behind his head; he let's it fly into the the center of the pond. He waits; not sure what to talk about; still confused about the whole "likeometer" incident. Several minutes pass; until finally he's jerked forward; and has to stand up to reel the fish back to him. Pulling backwards; and reeling exceptionally fast; a fish flops out of the water; Wess and it seemed locked in combat, Wess' hand reeling back so fast; and the fish pulling back so strong; there was no gain. Wess, his adrenaline pumping; made is arm go faster.

SPLASH!!!!

Wess stood there; looking at his line; and the size of the fish he just caught it was a semi-large fish; and it seemed to be a catfish. Looking at the fish; and then back at Genna; he smiled; and laughed his confusion off.

Wess seemed to be catching a fish. By how fast he was reeling, it seemed to be large and strong until he fell in to the water. Genna laughed and fell on her backuntil she opened her eyes with the sun glaring into her eyes.She got back up and saw wess carying a semi large fish. Genna was awed by how Wess could do the boring way of catching fish instead of just tackling the fish.

"Very good, Wess!" Genna said clapping.

"Now that was a fun fish to cat-" Wess' remark was cut short by the fish dangling on the hook. It had been rocking back and forth, back and forth, until finally it slapped him in the face, and went back to swinging wildly. Wess held his face with a free hand, and began laughing, as he pulled the hook out of the fish's mouth and landed it the bucket. "That was a mean fish!" Wess complains, rubbing the red spot on his face where he got slapped.

Noticing the red spot on his face, Genna became worried. "You okay?" Genna asked. She knew this injury wasn't serious but still she was kinda worried, How hard did the fish slap him. Hopefully he wouldn't get a black eye.

"Wait lemme check your eye." Genna asked.

It didn't look like he got a black eye, all was good.

Wess heartbeat increased, it seemed, 10 fold as Genna got so close to him. "Y-Yeah, fine," he stammers, the rest of his face turning a brilliant shade of red. Holding his eye after Genna stops looking at it; he asks, "Is it okay?" And begins turning to his normal shade of his tannish color. He blinks a few times, thanking the fish in his head for what it has done; while at the same time; cursing it for the pain it had caused him.

"Yea your fine, I still suggest you put ice on your eye for about ten minutes though." Genna suggested. Before she got her fishing pole back, She looked up into the sky. The sun seem to set soon. She lived close to Maple lake, so she could leave in like two hours or so. To her it seemed 4 pm.

"The sunset is actually more pleasent in Waffle island" Genna said, her eyes on the water.

"Urm... What ice?" Wess asks; removing his hand to his reddish eye; it seemed to be all watery; while the other side of his face looked perfectly normal. It sort of looked like a deformed version of cubism.... Which is meant to be, more normal, as all cubistic paintings are deformed. Blinking several times; for what seemed to be ten seconds long each; the pain began to ebb away. "If I could redo that; I would of paid closer attention..." Wess half-lied, for he enjoyed the attention the Genna had given him.

"Oh just like regular ice you get out of refrigerators, know what I mean? Plus fish don't have brains. Mistakes are what make us human" Genna said. That was one long speech she did. For a minute she seemed smarter. She smiled, She was glad Wess was her friend. She made her laugh and have fun times. Genna turned her head and smiled.

Wess grinned too, chuckling at Genna's ignorance. "I mean," he begins. "What ice, as in was there some right here?" Wess' grinned turned bigger as he teased Genna; and glanced at the sun. Time seemed to be passing quickly... Too quickly; there had to be a way to slow things down. What to do, what to do.... Genna was usually chocked full of ideas, maybe she'd think of something. Hrm.... He wasn't going to whistle nervously; only idiots seemed to do that when they couldn't think of what to say. Leave it to Genna.. The voice said in his head again.
