Edward stared at the ocean calmly. Funny, he thought, the water seems so peacful and calm now, but at other times, it can be so dangerous. Usually Edward was quite happy in his clueless little world, but this time Edward was serious. Probably because it was his mothers birthday today, but she was dead. Gone. Forever. These thoughts crowded his mind; he almost wanted to cry. Not because of these thoughts. Because of his being aware of his mother being dead. He had a feeling something bad was going to happen today, the ocean was never this calm unless bad luck was going to happen to Edward.

Riss walked through the beach silently. It was kind of odd being here in winter, but it was still pretty nice. She had been here before, but this time she was carrying a big stick for self defense. Then she saw a young boy. He looked a little bit younger then she was. "Whats up with you?" she asked, when she noticed that he was looking a little sad and hopeless. It was odd asking a total stranger, but he looked like he needed someone to talk to. And, in truth, Riss kind of needed someone to talk to as well.
