Arden sighed and slipped off her sandals. She loved visiting the Mineral Town beach; the pale yellow-white sand always reassured her that there was, indeed, some good, pure things left in the world.
A gust of wind blew a blonde lock of hair off of her heart-shaped face. She ignored it, letting her hair fly astray, and walked over to the dock. Sitting down on the cold wooden dock, she dipped her bare feet into the water, feeling the ripples gently lap at her ankles until they quieted.
And everything was still.
