My friend gave me a riddle. I don't know the answer and I don't understand it either. Can you gie any suggestions to this riddle? Here it is: "What has four legs in the beginning of it's life, two legs in the middle part of it's life, and three legs in the end part of it's life?" Huh?

It's a riddle about an aging man.

The four legs is the infant stage, where they're crawling on all fours (i.e. two hands, two knees).

The two legs is, obviously, walking, running, etc.

The three legs is at an elderly age, where the use of a cane (i.e. the third leg) is often needed to walk.

This is the riddle of the Sphinx! The Sphinx would sit on a rock and ask the riddle, and if you didn't get it right, it would eat you~

Gradually, the answer spread through the Egyptian societies and nobody got the answer wrong anymore~ Because the Sphinx had nobody to eat, it died from starvation~

Baby crawling on four "legs"~
Adult on two legs~
And an elder, using a cane as a third leg~

becuase when their a baby, they walk on four, then as they get older they walk on two, then when they're old, they have a can.
